TaxDome is very simple for our clients to use and understand. We have tried other portals, but they seemed to create more confusion than anything for our clients to upload their documents and view items we submit to them. I also like that it is secure. We have not had any issues in the past two years of using TaxDome with data breaches. The portal is clean and nice looking simple to navigate. The apps for the client and the firm also add convenience when you are on the go. I often as a firm owner find myself using the app to answer questions and do uploads quickly when not in front of my computer.

What do you dislike about TaxDome? TaxDome on the business side for the firm will require a learning curve. We have been using it for two years and still have not accessed to all the portal's features. They do have many videos and support for firm owners to use to get set up.

What problems is TaxDome solving and how is that benefiting you? The main reason we use TaxDome is because it is a safe and secure way to gather and exchange documents between our firm and our clients that is simple to use and understand for our clients. Tax organizers and questionnaires are not something that our clients enjoy coming into our office to fill out so being able to do that virtually is convenient for our clients.

I am impressed by the multitude of features and flexibility of TaxDome. My primary objective was to make it as easy as possible for my clients to work with me. TaxDome enabled me to achieve that, as well as improving the efficiency of busness operations on a daily basis.

What do you dislike about TaxDome? There's a bit of a learning curve, but Dominque of the Customer Success team has been a tremendous help with overcoming that via several free implementation sessions.

What problems is TaxDome solving and how is that benefiting you? TaxDome enabled me to customize tax organizers so that clients are only asked to provide responses to questions that are relevant to them, unlike the lengthy generic PDF organizers I used in the past.

I have been very impressed by the taxdome software. It allows for easy organization of tasks, secure client portals, and organizers that help make the tax process easy and consistent.

What do you dislike about TaxDome? So far, no issues. I've been using the product as a first-time user and have been able to figure things out on my own which is great.

I began using TaxDome 14 days ago and my experience has been phenomenal! I was so impressed with the organizers and the automations! The organizers contained all of the questions that need to be asked to tax clients, whether an individual or a business client. I loved most that we can set conditions on questions so clients don't have to answer questions that don't correlate to their circumstance. The automations were amazing as well!! Not having to manually send clients proposals and invoices makes the onboarding process so much more efficient. No to mention, the automations will keep clients updated about the status of their return at all stages. The engagement letters are also superb! They contain all of the necessary verbiage to outline what services clients are receiving and not receiving. They also contain key language that protects me as a business owner by clearing outlining the terms of the service. Again, as a new user of TaxDome I am very impressed and there's so many other features I haven't explored yet!

What do you dislike about TaxDome? There is nothing that I dislike about TaxDome. It's a really great product!

What problems is TaxDome solving and how is that benefiting you? TaxDome is solving a few problems for me. TaxDome is removing so much of the manual process from my workflow. No longer do I have to search on external sites for proposals and contract agreements. I can now invoice my clients and collect payment all in one place. The automations are absolutely amazing! The ability to auto send engagement letters, proposals, invoices, reminders, status updates, and so much more is just fantastic!

What do you dislike about TaxDome? It is not possible to integrate 2 different taxes on the invoice (anything calculate with a %) Not connecting with Sage for accountants There is no way to have the client adress on invoices

What do you dislike about TaxDome? Overall onboarding and implementation could use additional assistance. 45-minute calls may not cut it. Proper implementation efforts would be very advisable.

A Lifesaver for Accountants

Client portals and organizers make it easy to collect data and communicate with clients in a secure place where our entire internal team can access the info. The platform is also great for managing our team tasks and workflow. TD also offers plenty of resources to help new users learn how to use the platform.

What do you dislike about TaxDome? There are still opportunities for improvement for more efficient internal team communication. Most of our daily work and task management is within taxdome but our team still has to use an additional outside communication platform.

What problems is TaxDome solving and how is that benefiting you? Taxdome helps with efficient and secure data collection and organization as well a automating firm workflow.

Customer Self Sign-up, Conditional Organizers and Automated Workflow

I require my customers to use a self sign-up feature, so that they are doing the data entry into TD. This a necessary first step in order to receive a quote (which they may or may not accept). Next up is a conditional organizer feature which makes the organizer very short (for simple tax returns) and very long (for complex tax returns). Automated workflow allows me to keep my customers up to date on the progress of their tax return.

What do you dislike about TaxDome? Some of the features are not as robust as in standalone solutions. I am using Insightly as my legacy CRM and it's simple navigation and reporting are far superior to TD.

What problems is TaxDome solving and how is that benefiting you? Admin time is greatly reduced as we do not have to follow up with additional customer organizers (for rentals or business) or send templated messages about tax return status.

I love that I can set up pipelines with automated tasks such as sending out contracts, sending out organizers and requesting payment. I also love being able to lock my client documents to their invoice, so that they have to pay to look at them! Taxdome is so receptive to user requests and is constantly updating and improving the product. I am able to prepare so many more tax returns, as my admin time has been reduced to a bare minimum.

What do you dislike about TaxDome? There are a few things that need improving, but Taxdome takes user input very seriously and is constantly improving and updating the system.

What problems is TaxDome solving and how is that benefiting you? I used to spend ages per return emailing clients, checking for responses, payments, signatures etc and then sending further emails. Now TaxDome does all of that for me and moves the client through the pipeline, alerting me when I need to take action. I no longer spend hours on back-end admin tasks, but can focus on the tax preparation and customer interface. Each year the process gets more streamlined and easier.

The customer service is phenomenal. They will work with you one-on-one as needed to help with any issues.

Pros: The workflow automation has made our monthly tasks so much more efficient! The smart tax organizers and ability to request KBA signatures made tax season much easier.

Cons: Took a minute to get used to the lingo (jobs vs pipelines, etc).

Tax Dome has created so many efficiencies for my firm! Tax Dome has cut down my mundane, administrative work by over two weeks a year! Also, Tax Dome is extremely helpful with onboarding and the onboarding specialists are so helpful and truly go above and beyond!

What do you dislike about TaxDome? The only downside in my opinion thus far is that I cannot add a processing/surcharge fee if my clients select credit card as an option for payments. It would be great if we had the opportunity when creating invoices to add a surcharge when clients pay with a credit card.

What problems is TaxDome solving and how is that benefiting you? Time management - Tax Dome has created efficiencies that have cut down so much of my admin time. Also, Tax Dome is a one-stop shop for storing client documents, engagement letters, organizers, etc. I truly feel this software has made my firm so much more professional.

An Essential Tool for Efficient Tax Practice

Pros: I truly appreciate the automated reminders that prompt clients to complete their documents or organizers. The organizers are exceptionally helpful when onboarding new clients, and I find it incredibly valuable to have a quick overview of pending to-do items at a glance.

Cons: The one feature I find lacking is the capability to synchronize with Google Calendar.

Expectation is that we will benefit from the efficiencies that Tax Dome has over our prior Tech Stack of ProConnect, Karbon, SmartVault, QBO. TaxDome will eliminate Karbon (too difficult to use) and SmartVault (too expensive).

Pros: Client communications; All client details in one software; ability to send out targeted emails to client groups for organizers/engagement letters. TaxDome is very responsive to suggestions for improvements or problems.

Cons: Haven't yet completed implementation. Some concerns with transferring documents from prior DMS.

Taxdome has allowed me to increase my client capacity while also making sure I am giving a good client experience. I recommend it to many of my accounting colleagues and look forward to working with it as they continually upgrade and add tools.

Pros: I love that I can use TaxDome to onboard my clients for bookkeeping and taxes. The organizers are incredibly helpful and versatile in ensuring I have all the information I need. I also really enjoy being able to set up my workflow so that I can see a client's status throughout the month. I've added automation within my workflow (ie send an email reminder, let clients know their reports are ready, etc) and those are huge time savers.

Cons: I would like to see a better proposal system that integrates with pricing (ie they can build their own proposal). I also would like to have the option to pay monthly versus yearly.

There is a lot of set-up involved, and it can be daunting. However, I am eager for the day when I everything is set up and fine tuned to streamline my whole business.

Pros: I like the automation capabilities, and the fact that I can put a deliverable behind a paywall. Also, embedded organizers, engagements letters, and signatures...game changer. All at a reasonable price!

Cons: I wish I could have enable progress billing on an account. I require a 60% deposit from my clients to begin work, so it would nice if I can automate the 1st bill (60% of the total), then the 2nd bill (Remaining 40%).
