It's been a great tool to use during tax season. Makes workflow more organized and efficient.

Pros: Convenience & efficiency. Most of our clients have no trouble signing up, signing, & accessing their documents. It's also a secure way to request files

Great so far. Like the ease of uploading documents from Drake.

I purchased a client list from someone using TaxDome, and transitioned into using it. I barely used it the first season because I didn't understand it -- and now I love it and feel it contributes to my efficiency and document security in a way that would be impossible without it.

Pros: The ability to keep several methods of communication in one arena -- chats, emails from multiple addresses, etc -- all the while allowing the safe upload and download of documents. The work flows are a great organizational tool.

Cons: The user/fee structure. As a small practitioner, the kind that gets great use from TaxDome, we have users that are not primary, can be occasional - part time bookkeepers, seasonal interns, spousal record upkeep, etc. To charge the same for any new users is not cool -- and it leads to sharing of logins, which is not a safe practice.

Overall, TaxDome has really helped me streamline my bookkeeping and tax prep. It’s intuitive, secure, and has saved me a ton of time. From automating tasks to securely managing client documents, it’s made my workflow so much smoother. Tax season is always hectic, but with TaxDome, I feel like I have way more control and organization throughout the year.

Pros: The automation and document management features have been huge time-savers. I love that clients can easily upload and sign documents securely—it's made my life a lot easier, especially during tax season. Having everything organized and in one place means I’m not constantly chasing down paperwork, which is a big win for me w both bookkeeping and tax prep.

Cons: For some of my clients who aren’t super tech-savvy, the platform can feel a bit overwhelming at first. It would also be great to see more options for customizing the experience to better suit different clients' needs.

Amazing! Will continue using them for many more years

Pros: I love that TaxDome is a place where my clients can submit documents to me, pay their invoices, and get their tax returns from me in one app, in a secure manner.

Cons: At first when I started using TaxDome, I didn’t like the lack of payment options since I used Square, but my business has evolved where now I use Quickbooks for payments.

Improved efficiency and client satisfaction. Clients like to use the app.

Pros: workflow process, communication and document sharing capability, billing and invoicing

Cons: Folder structure is cluttered, makes it very confusing between files shared by client vs. documents shared with client vs. private for any specific tax year. Need to go to three different directories to view files. Would be great if there is an ability to flat the structure by tax year so that I can see all files in a single directory for a specific tax year. Would be helpful to preload new tax year folder in the beginning of the year. For example, I have to manually create 2024 folders for each client that I am doing 2024 work, such as estimated tax payments, sales tax or payroll tax. Ability to backup all data from network drive to hard drive. For example, most recently there has been internet outage in my area for almost 24 hours and I was not able to be productive as access to network drive was severed.

Pros: TaxDome is very user-friendly and combines everything I need for managing my tax practice. It has made organizing documents, communicating with clients, and tracking deadlines much easier. The automated reminders are especially helpful to ensure I don't miss any deadlines.

Cons: There is a bit of a learning curve at first, especially if you're not familiar with such software. I also wish there were more notifications for updates on client organizers.

Pros: What is great about Tax Dome is that everything is all in one place. It makes working from home easy. All team members can access documents at anytime and it keeps track of inventory in real time.

I love it I feel like it’s my tax business. It gives me more time to do other things and back and things and as we all know, time is money.

Pros: What I like most about Tax is the CRM system and also the document management enable to give and store clients documents or they’re able to get instant access to their things without asking me for consistently

You have to go to some trainings to figure out the automation or pay someone to do it so you’re not just gonna jump in and have it already set up as soon as you pay the cost so it’s an additional fee to have someone out automated but luckily, I found Carmen from Elite notary to for an affordable price

Pros: As someone who handles their own taxes, TaxDome has been an absolute lifesaver. Having everything organized in one place makes the whole process so much smoother. I can easily upload all my documents, communicate securely with my tax preparer, and track the progress of my returns. The automated reminders ensure I never miss a deadline. TaxDome has simplified the entire tax-filing process for me. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stress-free way to manage their taxes.

Cons: There is definitely a learning curve. I'm still figuring out some of the features. If you have an accounting background, you'll probably find your way around pretty quick. The rest of us would benefit from some simple tutorials.

Overall, TaxDome does just about everything I need to run my little business (other than bookkeeping). I look forward to figuring out how to use the functions that elude me, currently. In the meantime, being able to exchange documents, receive payment for invoices, and get client signatures remotely in one place is convenient.

Cons: • Very confusing to setup workflow, pipelines, tasks, and jobs • Some features are not linked in places where it would make sense - You cannot add an external/cash payment to invoice by viewing the invoice. The link to do that is located somewhere else • Did I mention that setting up pipelines and workflows, job tracking, tasks etc is very difficult and counter intuitive?

I am still setting it up to get more out of it, and I am still learning. Once I have it all figured out I think it's going to help me improve in efficiency and cut the time consuming repetitive tasks. Even with the price increase, it's going to help my business grow so it will help the bottom line.

Pros: All-in-one service: client portal, website, documents in the cloud, electronic signature, client management, client communication, etc. Time saving features with automation, bulk emails, among other things. Highly customizable. You can request one on one sessions with the very knowledgeable staff for setting up and questions at no additional charge.

Cons: The learning curve. This is a very useful service and since it's customizable you have to learn how to use it and it's not easy for the amount of features it has, which is a plus, but you have to put the time to take advantage of it. The price was very competitive when I started using it a couple of years ago, and they claimed that it was going to stay the same forever, but it was increased dramatically a few months ago. Still, I have renewed for 3 more years at the higher price because I think it's worth it.

Positive so far. I need to work on the processes so I can build my pipelines and my workflows.

Pros: Easier for clients to access and upload documents

Cons: I have only had one complaint, about uploading documents in the desktop upload folder. The dev team jumped right on it and should have it fixed soon!

Pros: We researched a number of practice management packages but ultimately decided to go with TaxDome due to the number of features it contains, and all its functionality is available to the Pro subscription with unlimited clients, unlike others that increase pricing for certain functionality or when you exceed a certain number of clients. We have not fully implemented yet, so our opinions are based on our experience so far and the research we have done, but we like the portal functionality, the fact that clients can use their mobile devices to upload documents to or view the portal, the integrated e-signatures, and the ability to lock drafts until payment is received.

Cons: During our research, the most-often cited con with TaxDome was the complexity in implementing the system. I would have to agree with this. I think part of the complexity is because of the extreme flexibility and customability of the program. There are numerous videos and help topics available, far more than the other programs we researched. We wish that some of the best practices in setting up things like accounts and contacts were more available, as when you are setting up the program you don't always understand the downstream implications until you get to that part. I think once we work through the heavy lifting of setting up and customizing the program to meet our needs, it will be invaluable to improving the efficiency and technology our firm employs, especially with respect to automation.

Pros: Clients have loved using tax dome. It makes uploading documents for them very easy as the interface is extremely intuitive. I also love that I can white label the software with my own firm’s branding and domain.

Cons: When a client uploads a pdf, there’s no option to rotate the pdf within tax dome (only an issue if the pdf is not facing straight and is uploaded horizontally which is rare)
