Last year, the TaxDome team attended some of the best accounting conferences in the world. One of our favorites was AFAANZ 2024 in New Zealand, where we showed forward-thinking accountants how they can automate their workflows and grow their practices.

We’ve prepared a list of seven of the most insightful and interesting accounting conferences in New Zealand this year. Read on to explore what they offer, key information, and why you should attend. All prices are in NZD. 

1. AI in Accounting Summit

4. CA ANZ Audit Conference 2025

Format: Virtual

Date: 21 May 2025 

Location: Online

Ticket price: Early-bird tickets cost $725 for members and $910 for non-members

Another popular annual event organized by CA ANZ, the Audit Conference 2025 takes place over one day and is fully virtual. It features seminars from leading audit experts, chartered accountants, and industry thought leaders, with 22 live sessions each day.

In addition to practical tips on relevant topics, there are dedicated sessions for both New Zealand and Australia-based auditors, focusing on the latest regulatory and technical updates in each jurisdiction. 

By attending the Audit Conference, you can earn 5 CPD hours through live sessions. You can also earn up to 18 in total by watching event recordings, which are available to attendees for six months after the event.

5. CA ANZ Accounting Conference 2025

Date: 22 May 2025

Location: Online

The CA ANZ Accounting Conference 2025 takes place the day after the Audit Conference and mirrors its format. In fact, attendees can register for both as part of one package to enjoy two jam-packed days of insights. Like the Audit Conference, you can expect expert talks from industry leaders, CPAs, and regulators. Here are a few examples of sessions to give you a taste of what to expect:

6. Bookkeeping Conference 2025

Date: 31 October 2025

Location: Due Drop Events Centre, Auckland

Attendees at the 2024 Bookkeeping Conference in New Zealand

Organized by the New Zealand Qualified Bookkeepers Association (NZQBA), this is the country’s premier event for bookkeeping. After a successful 2024 addition, the Bookkeeping Conference 2025 looks set to be even bigger.
