TaxDome is an all-in-one practice management solution for tax and accounting firms. An important part of our product is workflow. Because of that, we are sometimes asked ‘How does TaxDome compare with Karbon?’
This post is not your traditional feature vs feature type of comparison (although we will get that out of the way too). Rather, the goal here is to provide an insight into the philosophy behind each product.
Created for Tax & Accounting Industry
Simple & Transparent Pricing
Karbon was created for one purpose which it does fairly well — it’s a project management system. It allows you to keep track of various client projects, know what deadlines are coming up and which team member is working on what. In other words it’s definitely a must-have tool for a modern tax practice.
While this type of software is key to running an effective practice, it can’t be the only system you need. Just like a great rug can «tie the room together» — you also need actual furniture on top.
TaxDome offers workflow and all the other «furniture» pieces you need — client portal, mobile app, billing & invoicing, CRM, secure document storage and much more.
Thus the chief difference comes down to this — would you rather subscribe to, integrate and run 10 different apps (one of which will be Karbon) or just one — TaxDome?
TaxDome offers two pricing plans — NZ$600 per year per user for growing firms and NZ$300 per year for solopreneurs with unlimited storage, clients, e-signatures and free training.
Karbon has three different price plans that vary from NZ$210 per month for a team of 3 to «call us to find out».
Karbon offers a number of paid setup and training packages priced between NZ$999 to NZ$2,999. They include one-one training and onboarding sessions.
TaxDome offers live training, client import and dedicated success manager free of charge.
